CBM2 Publishes Review Paper on CTC Analysis

Cartoon microfluids

Prof. Steven Soper, Director of CBM2, published an extensive review paper on microfluidics for the isolation and molecular analysis of Circulating Tumor Cells (DOI: 10.1039/C7CS00016B). Co-authors were Dr. Matt Jackson, Dr. Maggie Witek and Dr. Joyce Kamande.

In this manuscript, a review of the various microfluidic technologies that can be used to isolate CTCs were discussed as well as the clinical results secured using these microfluidic platforms in a variety of cancer-related diseases. In addition, information on the importance of not only device architecture, but the choice of material used for the device was also discussed. The review paper appeared in the journal, Chemical Society Reviews (Impact Factor = 38.6). It was also selected as the back cover for the print journal (see figure above).
