CMB2 Graduate Student Quentin Jarrell Triumphs in KU 3 MT Competition

Quentin Jarrell, a master's student in bioengineering at the Center of BioModular Multiscale Systems for Precision Medicine (CBM2), has emerged victorious in the KU 3MT Competition. Jarrell claimed the first-place title with his impactful presentation titled "Unraveling our Genetic Puzzle."

Jarrell's success extends beyond the university as he is slated to represent The University of Kansas and CBM2 at the Regional Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools 3MT Competition in St. Louis on April 5th. Additionally, he earned the People's Choice Award, securing an additional $150 prize.

In reflecting on the competition, Jarrell highlighted the importance of connecting research with the broader community. He expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the competition and stressed how platforms like 3MT allow researchers to demonstrate the real-world impact of their work and generate interest in their endeavors.

“It is really special to have the opportunity to represent KU at the regional competition. From my experience as an undergraduate at KU through my master’s program, I know how much amazing research goes on at KU. I’m very proud to share my role in that culture and to share that with other schools throughout the Midwest at regionals,” said Jarrell. Jarrell's award-winning presentation captivated listeners.
