Steve Soper Participated in SelectBio Conferences in San Diego

Steve Soper traveled to San Diego, CA to take part in the Fifth Annual SelectBio Point-of-Care Diagnostics, Global Health & Emerging Viral Diseases World Congress 2017, October 2-4. He ran a short course workshop on October 2nd titled “Basic Principles in Lab-on-a-Chip (LOAC) Technologies for the Study of Circulating Biomarkers: Applications in Liquid Biopsies,” in which participants were introduced to the burgeoning area of liquid biopsies and the technologies used for the isolation of the markers (Circulating Tumor Cells, CTCs, cell-free DNA, cfDNA, and exosomes) directly from whole blood comprising the liquid biopsy. The major technology platform discussed was lab-on-a-chip (LOAC) platforms.

Later that same day, Prof. Soper gave a Keynote Presentation titled “Mixed-Scale Fluidic System: Searching for Drug-induced DNA Damage in Circulating Tumor Cells.”

Immediately following the October 2-4 conference, Dr. Soper participated in the Fourth Annual SelectBio Liquid Biopsies & Minimally-Invasive Diagnostics 2017 meeting on October 5-6, 2017 in San Diego, CA, where he gave the talk “New Tools for Liquid Biopsies to Enable Precision Medicine.”
