Liquid Biopsy Research Featured on Health Uncensored with Dr. Drew
LAWRENCE — For patients with certain diseases, current clinical testing is less than ideal. Disease monitoring for leukemia, for instance, involves expensive, invasive procedures such as solid tissue or bone marrow biopsy, while radiographic imaging for stroke diagnosis can take too long for some interventions to be effective. However, a new liquid biopsy process would make diagnostics like these cheaper, faster, and far less invasive.
Dr. Steven A. Soper is the co-founder and CTO of BioFludica, a biotechnology company which supports this liquid biopsy research through the development of new, microfluidic tools. Dr. Soper and BioFluidica CEO Greg Studdard were recently featured on Health Uncensored with Dr. Drew to discuss these innovations and the future of disease diagnostics.
